Obtaining a Student Visa
Once you are accepted into Hofstra University and submit your deposit your application is sent to International Student Affairs.
Obtaining an I-20
An I-20 form is an official government document which certifies that a person is eligible to be an F-1 nonimmigrant student at Hofstra.

Financial Support can come from a combination of sources in the U.S. or abroad.

Please note that the I-20 application can be completed at any stage of the application process. However, it is a required form in order to finalize an admission decision. - F-1 Visa Transfer Form [PDF]
(required if transferring from a U.S. high school, college or university) - Affidavit of Support (if financial documents include an account that is not in the student’s name)
- Dependent Information Form (if any dependents will accompany you to the U.S.)
- Sponsor's Promise of Free Room and Board Form (if a family member or sponsor will be providing you with free off-campus accommodations for the duration of your education program)

*Remember that you will need to bring original copies of your financial supporting documents to your visa interview.
